As the gig economy and non-traditional forms of work become increasingly common, delivery services have emerged as an important option for many people to boost income while balancing work and personal life. Uber Eats has, for the first time, released average hourly earnings data for its delivery partners while on delivery*, and partnered with 104 Job Bank to host the “Time Nomads Trend Forum,” exploring how this new flexible and autonomous work model is becoming a major force in the labor market.
First Disclosure of Delivery Partner Earnings Data
Uber Eats released the results of a survey conducted by global research firm Mandala, analyzing data from over 15,000 delivery partners in 2024. The Mandala report showed that delivery partners on Uber Eats earned an average of NT$290 per hour while on delivery, with estimated costs deducted for a net average of NT$270** per hour. Further analysis showed that the top 25% of partners earned NT$312 per hour, while the bottom 25% still earned NT$224 per hour.
Jia-Ying Lee, General Manager of Uber Eats Taiwan, said:
“Delivery partners on the Uber Eats platform include parents working hard to support their families, students balancing studies, and entrepreneurs pursuing their dreams while delivering. The flexibility provided by the platform enables them to balance income and life. By making these earnings data public, we aim to respond to partners’ expectations for greater transparency.”
Delivery Platforms Showcase High Flexibility
Since launching in Taiwan in 2016, Uber Eats has stood out in the gig economy by offering flexible work opportunities. According to the report, two out of three delivery partners worked 10 hours or fewer per week while on deliveries, and most (76%) spread their work across at least two days. This kind of flexibility, measured in days rather than hours, is something traditional jobs are unable to offer.

*“While on delivery” refers to delivery time of the total hours from when a delivery partner accepts a trip until the trip is delivered.
**The NT$270 figure is based on the total amount earned by all Uber Eats delivery partners in Taiwan during delivery time in 2024, calculated as the average hourly earnings after deducting estimated operating costs.
